Altrusa of Ames Supports Legal Aid’s Litigation Fund
The Legal Aid Society of Story County is grateful to Altrusa of Ames for a generous $2,000 grant from the proceeds of its 2025 Holiday Home Tour.
The award will help replenish Legal Aid’s litigation fund, which covers essential court-related expenses for low-income clients when no other funding is available. These funds help pay costs such as court filing fees, service of process, and mediation expenses—costs that can otherwise become a significant barrier to accessing the legal system.
We are incredibly grateful to Altrusa of Ames for investing in our work and helping ensure that a client’s inability to pay these necessary expenses does not stand between them and access to justice.
